Frank Epperson who in 1905 left fruit flavored soda out on the porch with a stir stick in it It was left outside in freezing temperatures so that when Frank found it again it was a Popsicle He kept it a secret for 18 more years until he was able to file a patent in 1923 for frozen ice on a stick or the Eppsicle ice pop (renamed Popsicle )
